Nearly 40pc of SMEs using cloud computing, new figures

A report from accounting software firm Sage Ireland found that 38pc of SMEs are using the cloud, mainly because of the lower costs involved for the business and the ability to access information anywhere.

The research, which was released to coincide with the launch of Sage’s new “Sage 200 ERP Suite” of financial software, shows the increasing importance of the cloud in the small business sector.

Sage Ireland Country manager Simon Hodgkins said it was clear the versatility was needed for business looking to spend money for online infrastructure.

“The Sage 200 suite is aimed at growing businesses and is easy to use, accessible anytime, anywhere.  It is also highly cost-effective and secure and gives customers more freedom and more choice than ever before,” he added.
